Anyone Running 245/45/17 Front and 255/50/17 Rear? Photos?
It's time for me to get new tires. I currently have 245/45/17 all around. A friend is suggesting I go to 255/50/17 on the rear only and that I stay with the 245/45/17 on the front. I'd love to see photos of any cars running that combination. Thanks a million! Ron

1 of the best places to window shop for tires is tire rack.com, you can look at tire sizes and hit the the specs button to see exactly what rim they fit, tread width and most importantly to me anyway, overall tire diameter.
The blue vette running the 245/45/17 fr 255/55/17 rear looks good. The front tire diameter is 1.5 inches less then the rear 27" tire dia. Keep in mind the stock overall tire dia. Was 27".
If you like that look, I do think his vette nailed it. But he obviously has lowered the suspension to make it fill that front wheel well.

I've got 255/50/17 on rears and 255/45/17 on fronts, has a good amount of clearance at sharp turn angles. The brand is Nitto NT 55, it was hard finding the two different sizes with same tread patterns, so I thought I would throw the brand in.

Thanks for the information and photos of your beautiful car. Mine's a 74. I'm also having trouble finding the same tire in the two sizes I'm looking for. So far I've only found it in Kuhmos.

That's actually been my plan all along - to run 255/50 all around when my 245/45 all around wear out. My friend is suggesting the car would look more aggressive with the two different sizes - so I'm looking for images to see what it would look like. Beautiful car!

Well, how often does one make "sharp" turns? I'd rather have the grip up front and be careful on the turns. I think the balance of the car comes into play. A full steel BB equipped out is going to tend to under steer bad enough as it is, me thinks, without putting less rubber down upfront (with the 245s).
