Hi,
I am going to sell my 1970 corvette this summer. I am wondering if it is worth my time to take it to Bloomington to get it Survivor certified? I'm not thinking I will have any problem with getting the certificate just wondering if it will really increase the value of the car?
Thanks Dave
Why don't you post some pix so we can provide our opinions. When I took my 68 out to Illinois for SURVIVOR Certification in 2009, it was money well spent, not for the cert but for the whole BG experience.
If you are not into it I wouldn't bother. Bloomington aint cheap and I am not sure how many $$ a silver or gold cert would add to the value of your car. Bowtie I am even less sure because you can only do that once, so the guy you want to buy your car won't be able to have it bowtie judged. Sort of a catch 22. But if you would enjoy the process, by all means go for it.

...I planning on going out and having my '74 "Re-Survivored" in 2014. It's my favorite part of the BG experience. The judging & the "Survivor" Road Tour is a blast. I love checking out all the very, very original cars, be it C1s, C2s, C3s, etc. I appreciate all the restored cars, just kinda tired of looking at them. I enjoy the history & patina of the real original Corvettes. I've taken a 1980, a 1968 and my 1974 through the process. Went from 1992 to 2006. Looking to get back out there.
It's absolutely worth your time, especially given the fact that the "unrestored" and barn-find type cars continue to rise in popularity in the collector car world.
