72 vibration
I have a 72 with a significant vibration at 55 mph only when accelerating. I have replaced the u-joints, transmission mounts and checked the motor mounts, replaced the tranny rear seal/bushing, balanced wheels, checked wheel bearings. I have not balanced the drive shaft. Any ideas? I'm wore out! Thanks

55 mph is a perfect speed for a tire vibration but accelerating says it is a driveline angle issue.
The key to figuring out vibration is the frequency. Driveline (u-joints and shafts) will be at least twice a fast and engine related vibration; double that.

vibration can be tough to figure out.if it's caused by more than one thing you can throw the test rules out the window.in my case it was unbalanceable tires,drive line phasing angles,(had to raise rear of tranny 1" or so),u-joints,set proper camber and toe,a-frame bushings and trailing arm bushings.listed in order of affect on vibration.best of luck as you will say things you don't mean.
