If you've attended any fancy Concours with huge dollar cars being presented you'll notice that those cars have nothing on their tires. Those folks prep their tires by cleaning them with a very fine steel wool (this takes time folks ) and then hand buffing the tire with a cotton towel.
Pledge does smell nice but I wouldn't let it near any of my cars and I certainly would never use it on any fine furniture either. You've got to try the steel wool way at least once (as I said, allow yourself some time). If you don't like the results you can always spray goop all over your tires .

I would not use anything else but Pledge...No abrasives just a slippery coating... On Imron paint you want to keep the "wet" look... On glass and Plexiglas you want to keep the "crazing" filled in....Why spend lotz o money?. Again, it's not going to keep hail stones from damaging the skin but for a good shine and easy bug removal it's the best ....Now I forgot what the OP was !!!!
Aerospace 303 protectant is an awesome product. Great for tires, vinyl soft tops. UV protection and it lasts a long time. Check it out! Go to the car care section of the forum and do a search. Good luck!
To whiten the raised letters, I use Westley's BLECHE-WHITE. It is made for white-wall tires, and works well on the raised letters. A small amount on a damp sponge gets it done.

Synthetic rubber isn't supposed to shine. It has a 'satin' gloss to it. So, I just clean the he!! out of them with Westley's Bleech Wite, let them dry, and put a coat of Nu-Vinyl on them (polymer protectant). It seals the rubber so that dirt doesn't find it way into the rubber so easily. It also blocks UV so the tires don't deteriorate from sunlight as quickly.
Using Zaino is essentially the same thing, but Nu-Vinyl is easier to apply. BTW, Armor-All or any other petroleum-based products just break the rubber down quicker. What do you think that 'brown' discoloration is on the tires when you use it? It's.....rubber....
