383 Stroker Carb Question
I don't think it's flooding or dumping gas like the local guy said. I plan on checking the carb with the tach, vacuum gauge, and installing the fuel filter. It ran great the other day when I went to town and topped off the tank.
But, I wonder how the gas changeover to spring from winter grade might affect it. Also, I'm using NON-ethanol in it. Fastrac here has it in premium grade, which I need anyway. When I switched from the damn E-15 to the non-ethanol, the performance improved dramatically. Other gas stations are getting the non-ethanol here, too.

The performance shop that did the conversion is actually in Central Square. I will not be going back to them. Nice guys, but...
I also belong to the Syracuse Corvette Club, though not very active. I want/need to learn to tune the carb. Send me a PM if you'll be in the area sometime.
Thanks,
Bob
They didn't install a fuel filter between the pump and carb? Rubber hose? I wouldn't go back either.
Edelbrock doesn't make the 8873 fuel filter anymore; I have one with a new filter I can send you. However, I recommend you fabricate a proper fuel line to avoid an engine fire with the rubber line.
I’ll post some pics of the fuel line I built for my Edelbrock 1405 (very similar to your 1411) when I get home.

You woulda thunk that, huh? LOL
I'm not a mechanic, but I'm aware of the extremely high heat conditions under the hood and cracks and disintegration of the rubber.
For the price I paid for the conversion, a metal fuel line should have been included while doing the build.
I'll post a couple of pics of the setup.
Bob
Here's the setup. I need to clean the engine but waiting for winter to be over! The cleaning solutions would freeze. LOL
Do you think they didn't use a metal fuel line due to the various angles from the fuel line down in front of the engine?

Bob

I think they were lazy, but let's not beat a dead horse
Step 1:
Get a proper fuel line and filter in place. No use in tuning if your carb is fouling from not having a filter.
This what I did:
Used a 3/8'' x 40'' Napa straight brake line, fuel filter for an '85 Vette, and some russell fittings:
Utilized the following tools, which cost me $40 and rented a double flare set from Advance Auto:
Installed:
First fuel line I've ever fabricated, took 4 hours to bend and fit. You can do it
