Most Corvette events are dominated by late models. It seems to be just the way is. It looks like you had great weather and as long as the Corvette turn out is good that's what matters the most.
That's exactly what I've noticed at car shows where there are late-model Corvettes as well as C1/C2/C3 cars. The late-model owners all go look at the C1/C2/C3 cars, but they don't really go look at each other's cars. The vintage Corvette owners will take a quick look at the newer ones, but spend most of their time looking at all the vintage cars.
It's a frustrating proposition - my late model car is always ready and willing to go, and is more comfortable (more headroom, shoulder room, working A/C), but the 78 is a more interesting car.
HOWEVER - I'm going to a show to see other people's cars, not mine. Although it's certainly worthwhile to show off all the work I've put into the thing over the years...
Wasn't meant to put down the late models
Was just thinking of a thread title, actually one pic has me next to a Anniversary C3
But looking over all the C5-6's that were there, was definetely outnumbered
Basically, the C1, C2 and C3 cars show UP so that others can check them out, if they wish. The late-model cars come to show-OFF. I actually saw a whole club of C5/C6 cars come to a local show (charitable event) and AVOID paying an entry fee; they then stayed around to 'strut their stuff' only to leave early. None of them offered to even leave a donation for the charity being helped.
I know this sounds like I'm down on late-models. I'm not. But I am down on late-model owners. I've seen similar behavior on a number of occasions.
Annual Bar B Que run hosted by Desertdawg...ended up with 111 Vettes
Great day for it. Got to stretch it a little with some of these later models
How did you get these pictures?
I have noticed a distinct lack of older Vettes at most of the events I have been to in the past few years and it seems to be getting worse. In different ways I like them all.
