My horn button on my 79 is popped loose on 2 of the 3 rivets. I know that Wilcox has a replacement paint to match one for not much so rather than trying to glue this one I wondered if anyone tried theirs? How does it attach? The picture Wilcox has on eBay only shows the front. If its still like factory and rivets I don't know how to attach the other pieces.
I was wondering what the new replacement one looks like to attach the plastic insert and horn ring to. Or would I be just as well off to JB weld what I have together. 2 of the 3 rivet mounts on what I have are sheared off below the horn ring. I wonder how they addressed the new one and is it also a rivet
The new horn buttons have 3 hollow "rivets", cast into the back side.
After painting the button to match your interior, you install the plastic emblem, and the metal cap retainer, and then peen over the rivets, to hold everything together. This is the same way GM put them together.
