Default radio restoration vs conversion

Not sure what I want to do on my 71 radio? restore or convert to stereo? at present I have a aftermarket(concours) stereo radio wired to four (4) speakers and an Ipod. I don't like the way it looks in the bezel (***** stickout to far). Anyway my thinking is to restore the original and have it wired to the four speakers and Ipod. Can this be done? at what cost? Or have the radio converted to stereo and wired to the four speakers and Ipod. what would the cost be? Who is the preferred person to this??
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
You might want to try Precision Stereo Repair in N.Y., 315-797-5219, or Jerry Rudbeck, 864-363-094, I believe they do those kinds of modifications.
Regards,
Alan

PS: I had a good experience with the repair of my 71 radio by Jerry.

Or....you can just use a Dremel w/cut-off wheel to shorten the tuning/volume control shafts so they don't "stick out".
