Default Thoughts on a '68 BB Roadster - Automatic

OK... this is my last value question... well maybe not!
I've been watching this '68 roadster that if for sale locally... I know the asking prices are much higher here in Canada but stay with me...

The Good

Roadster
427/390
45K original miles (have to see in person)
Power Windows
Hard Top
Decent paint (from what I can see in pics)
Tank Sticker

The Bad

Burgundy Color
Automatic
Interior may need some detailing help but looks decent (hard to see in pics)

I might check it out tomorrow... just unsure where BB Automatics are priced these days?
What is drawing me to the car is the documentation and the 427... I can live with the automatic.
It started out at $33K... now he is at $29K and says come see and make me an offer.
I'd want to stick to my $22-24K budget... is that too much for this car as described?

Thanks in advance to all that chime in.
Chuck

Hi Chuck,
I think it's TOO LITTLE for a NICE 68 427 convertible.
It will really depend on what you find when you see it in person.
Seller's descriptions are often not very reliable, but you never know.
Regards,
Alan

Walk up to him with 25k cash in your fist and try your luck, can't hurt.

Thanks Alan... I was thinking the same thing... probably high 30's or low 40's depending on condition.
There is a red flag where the ad says the motor is balanced and blueprinted and it only has 45K miles?
He says it was already done when he bought the car 9 years ago from the original owner.
I'll go see it tomorrow... we will see when I get there.

Nothing wrong with a 68 big block TH400 equipped Vette . But then again I am being biased. Even better if it was an original red car.
