None. HUD units are a 'gimmick' and have no particular purpose on a driver-vehicle, [IMO].

I work on aircraft huds. I thought they were silly when I first saw them coming from old school instruments, however they provide useful information without looking away from the window. Just adjust your focus for what you need to see. If you have to look back and forth to check instruments for a few hours this adds up. Our pilots now hate to fly when its broken. For simple tach/speed I can see it being kind of useful if your pushing your car.

Rip one out of a wrecked corvette or camaro and fab it in somehow. Thats the only thing I could think of. I love mine in my camaro.

Cars with HUD have a special windshield that reflects the display better. not sure if it would work well with a normal windshield

How will you convert the analog C3 instrument signals to the digitial format used by a HUD?

It's a little slow in displaying speed when accelerating, but it is spot on when cruising. Speed on the HUD always matches the speed on my nav system. It is more accurate than the analog gauge.

If I'm flying a fighter jet going Mach whatever, I don't want to look down to see instruments...I want the info in my field of view.

Driving for burgers doesn't require that type of equipment.

Take a HUD out of a Pontiac. Soooo many of the the grandprix bonnevilles and g6 g8 had them. We had HUD in a 97 bonneville ssei. They can be grabbed cheap out of a junk yard or off eBay. Install it then give us a write up on how you did it.
