I'm redoing the dash and gauge cluster with new up to date gauges. I was wondering how if anyone has done this rewired the turn signals and the gas light and all the little lights that are in between the tach and speedo and the extra lights on the gauge cluster.

Except for different lighting and visual appearance, "new" gauges are not any better than the ones already in the C3 Corvette. In fact, you may have some difficulty finding 'sensors' that will give you good readings...unless they already come complete with that gauging. The temp sensor already in the car will almost certainly not work properly with any brand of new gauge. If you have an ammeter, you can't just stick a 'voltmeter' in its place; and, I don't know that many gauge companies make ammeters any more.

But...to each his/her own. If you want to replace them all, have at it.

I fabricated a small bezel the I have hooked up on the bottom of the drivers side dash, down by the hood release. I have also seen pics of guys that drilled holes in the speedo/tach bezel. Not recommened with 40 year old plastic. They are VERY fragile.

Lots of new wiring but I like how mine turned out. Good luck.

Recon your dash isn't worth the trouble rewiring yourself. Get a new harness. American autowire can help you give them a call.

Also reconsider keeping your stock gauges. Chevy really did come up with a nice design. This company can restore them to looking brand new.

Yea Im just looking at my options. A new wiring harness would be great because the wires themselves are pretty bad and there have been poor attempts to fix things. Im not scared of the electrical work I just know it can take a lot of time. As far as sensors go Those are getting replaced because the engine is getting overhauled with new gaskets and such so I replace the sensors anyways at that point because they probably are the original ones. Im just looking for tips and tricks because I am going for a new school meets old school feel on the car

Sometimes, "new school" just means spending more money for no real benefit. You may be better off seeing how your gauges work with new sensors in the engine.
