OK so after many failed attempts to install the correct wiring terminals for the hood alarm switch on my 73 I finally gave up and purchased an alarm switch for a 75 with the spade connectors. Works great just isn't correct. Has anyone figured out how to successfully install those flimsy terminals for the 73 switch.
Having said this, I have no idea of how to connect the lead to those switches. After I split the switch in half, I covered the lead in shrink tubing. No alarm anyways. Yes I too am Bubba.
If you want an OEM crimp, get yourself one of these.

I think I used barrel D for the wire and E for the insulation. Did a nice job.
There are some people who think that if you use the wrong color bolt for something, you're Bubba, but it's not true. Bubba is a backward, barefoot, inbred hillbilly who is married to his first cousin, and has a relative that he calls "Uncle granpa!". He thinks that if you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical problem. He "fixes" broken parts by removing them and throwing them away. If he ever gets access to a welder, and somehow gets electricity out to his shack, we'll all be in a lot of trouble! So, no, you are not a Bubba.
I quit using duct tape when they came out with gorilla tape, now thats an amazingly sticky, good holding, multi tool..and you can get it in camo and 8 other colors
Most NCRS members (I'm one ) or certified NCRS judges (I am not one) where they to judge your '73 Corvette would go nuts for that terribly wrong '75 switch (the end must be near ). That horrible substitution will cost you lots of points - but you ain't no buba. Buba would have used a string attached to his wife's alligator that she keeps under Buba's hood. Buba would have skipped the switch completely because Buba's Corvette doesn't even run. It's engine is [mostly] in his truck now.
Sounds like I just wrote an episode for one of those reality shows!
