Does anyone know of any particular area or component in the wiper tray mechanism that would make it sloppy when closed ( can rock it up and down along the front edge , both left and rignt side about 1/4") but quite firm and solid when it is fully open ? It appears as though the rod that drives the tray system ( from the vacuum actuator ) does not move when you observe the sloppy condition within the tray linkage. I have replaced all the white plastic bushings that are replaceable.
Hi v,
Without seeing the doors movement it's hard to say what's loose.
Have you checked the 2 stops (1 each side near the fenders) ? These bottom out on 2 white nylon stops that are riveted to the wiper bay.
If you have the wiper bay grill off you might be able to look under the door to see what's moving.
Maybe the stops?
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
