Default 1971 Air Vent Cables

I am working on hooking up the fresh air vents. I have the cables mounted under the console as they should be. My question is, how do you run the cables from them console to the vents? On the driver side, do they go over the column? Or over all the pedals? or under the pedals? Im not sure how they are best to go and the way i have it, the cable cant mount to the vent because it feels way to tight! Also, what does the white connecter that attaches one cable to the other do? is it an adjustment? Mainly i need help with the drivers side...some pics would greatly be appreciated to show how this goes. Thanks

Hi VR,
The cable routing is shown in the AIM in UPC1 asm, Sheet E10.
It runs under the pedal pivots but above the steering column.
It's almost level as it travels from the shifter console to the mount on the vent door.
You're right, the white connector adjusts the length of the cable.
Regards,
Alan

Hi VR,
Since only 1 part number is listed for both doors....they're the same.

Alan
