Help me out with this one fellas. This is on my '75, and if it was correct it should have 'I' in the date code, which is does not. Instead, I see "VY". What is the "V" year?
I believe that V is the month of December.
Y- should be the year 1985
Y-1959
1972
1985
Mine on my 73 that was built in December of 72 is:
CY- November 1972
Thanks Donnie. 1985 is most likely correct. I'm discovering alot of evidence that this car was in a nasty wreck back in its day that required much of the front end to be replaced, and it appears that includes the windshield.
Hi lmp,
I think a good way to tell if a windshield has been replaced (regardless of it's date code) is to look for signs of the original damming strip that was used to control the 'seep' of the Thiokol sealer that was used when the windshield was installed in St.Louis.
I've been looking for many, many, years and have yet to see the strip used on a replacement windshield, or even on an original windshield that was removed and replaced for some reason.
Regards,
Alan
