Good luck DG, It sounds like a herniated disc. Many of my friends described the same pain. Good news its repairable/fixable if thats the diagnosis. Saw your post over on the "before and after " thread. I cant wait until this is finished and you can throw all the pictures on here back to back of all youve done to your beast.
This is thursday night as I type this. My hopes and prayers that you got goodish news today
Tony - Just got caught up on your thread. Didn't realize I was so outta touch. The work you have done looks amazingly great! Man how much it has improved! Wish I could say something of any sort about my project.... but I can't. Still having problems with the daughter's Monte Carlo.......... Still not done. Phone died and with the stupid Window upgrades I can't even find my pictures or download from my phone any more. Frustrated and just look at the cars. Been hunting for 2 months and nothing. But now I read where you are and I feel like an idiot. Just need to buckle down and do something. Bought some new strut rods, so maybe I will get going again soon. Keep going my friend and I will be praying for you.
I just had both knees replaced. She won't regret it. Okay, the first month she will regret it. Then gets better. I can be on my feet for hours now. Last 5 years, 15 minutes tops.
So......between back/leg spasms I decided to check the fuel flow to the carb. NOW I understand why you guys don't like rubber fuel lines in the engine bay.
I tried to start the car, but it only sputtered......I checked under the hood and the 3 y.o. 300psi-rated rubber fuel line had a pinhole in it near the carb inlet! Pic doesn't show rubber line on driver side of carb
Tomorrow......if possible I'll install braided line with correct fittings from regulator to carb inlet..........
Thanks for the good thoughts, Guys. If I could have found an external fuel pump with a 6 psi constant output I would Not have needed the regulator.
As for today's progress.......I'm still waiting for the pain to slack off enough so that I can re-route the new braided line with a 90* fitting. That purdy stuff averages $20 per foot pre-assembled!
Edelbrock Performer, That is why I matched it with the fuel pump. Now I do have a radical cam in this car but the engine was built up before I bought the car so how radical I do not know. Still trying to get the engine setup working right having issues with getting the car to launch she still gives me a 1/2 second of no power before kicking in.

Ok, ya, Edelbrock carbs want around 4.5 psi fuel pressure so that makes sense. As for the delay, I had the same problem. I increased the accelerator pump squirt my timing and richened up my jets. My carb was really lean. Start another thread so we don't hijack DGS and I'll tell you all about it.
DG, what carb are you running, it looked like a holley
