I just checked out the alternator bracket......GOOD NEWS!
A previous owner left the original bracket ON the alternator and adapted a DIY bracket to it and the exhaust Log-type manifold.
I'll remove the DIY bracket so the original will bolt directly to the ram horn manifold.
Sometimes things accidentally work out
Yep! However....I did more blasting on the 2nd head. Surprise/Surprise....
Intake.... .340 x 4.900 x 2.000 approx.
Exhaust... .341 x 1.500 x 4.900 approx.
5 of the 8 seats look like they will clean up...
I need two new intake valves...and weld/build up the 2 seats to save the head...
There must have been a slow drip through the storage room roof for about 30 years.

I've mastered two-wire voltmeter...now I'm going for 30-wire alarm/remote-start.
Am I glad I added a foot to every wire behind the dash...and quik-disconnects...per other members.
Now I can pull out the gauge clusters and do any work while the wiring is still attached to the gauges.
Same deal with the speedo cluster...I also bought tach and speedo cables a foot longer than stock so I could work on that area while everything still functioned.

I'd be pretty proud if I were you, doorgunner. You've done a great deal more to your car, like rebuilding transmissions, than I will be doing
BUT...I'm doing everything BACKWARDS
Anyhow...I'm recleaning the gauges since the brain isn't working enough to wire the alarm system...
I'm glad I added the extra foot of wiring/quik disconnects.....need to replace the electric tape and crimp-splices with solder and shrink-wrap.....
The red bulbs are an aviation thing....
New Tach face...wrong redline...oh well...
As my E.R. Nurse says......"Taaa Daaa !"......
OOOOPS....the original lenses are too nasty to reuse on the new faceplates....
Antenna cable...over the river...thru the woods past grandma's house....
4 hours later....now to connect the 4 fused power leads......
IF everything works correctly I'll remove all the extra bundles of output wires...50 y.o. cars don't need no 60 extra wires !
I think i may have ziptied the shock senser to the receiver by mistake
Ohh well...easy fix.
Hopefully i will ziptie the Vette original dash harness back into place tomorrow.

Looks like you're making steady progress. Whenever I see your profile I think of the summer of '77 when I was in New Orleans from June thru October on a temporary transfer. Hottest summer of my life, and I'm from FL. We stayed in River Ridge but managed to visit co-workers in Fat City quite often, probably too many times hitting the bars. Driving from the Telco office to the River Ridge apt., I remember taking Hickory to Dickory to Dock... always gave us a chuckle. Saw a lot of sad women at the Winn Dixie store the day that Elvis died.
Looking forward to seeing your completed project.
