I think it is a vacuum valve that reads water temperature and decides when to open the flaps in your air cleaner to allow cool air into the carb instead of heated air off the manifold. Looks like one nipple is broke off should be 2 vacuum lines going to it.

The nipple that is broken ran to the carb and the other runs to the egr valve.. Im trying to find out what it is called and how to take it off so I can replace it..

Remove the remaining hose, then get an appropriately sized wrench and back the brass hex base off to remove it. If it is really tight, you may want to operate the vehicle to get the engine warm first.

No doubt the brass base threads and the aluminum manifold threads are tightly bonded by now. You might try something to loosen that joint; 50/50 mix of acetone and auto tranny fluid is something that works well to break up thread corrosion.

You might want to find a good replacement for that part before you attempt to remove the broken on. Put some pipe-dope sealant on the brass threads of the new one when you install it.

It's a TVS switch (thermo-vacuum). Purchase the special socket used for installing and removing these. The socket has an open side which fits past the outlets without breaking them.

I suspect the special socket costs more that the device itself. But, do what you must.

you can make your own tool by making an elongated slot in a deep socket if you want.

I dont know the size you need but an O2 sensor socket of the right size might work. If you dont care about the old one.. just break off the plastic piece entirely and use a shallow socket on it so you can put some grunt to it.

Install the new one carefully with a wrench as suggested. Put some sealant on the threads.

This is in the collant so when you remove it you will most likely get some fluid from the opening.
