Three... two... one... lift off!
I can "see" a long row of 3-1/2" gauges, with a row or two of toggle switches underneath!
You could stick on some paper internet pics of each gauge on your mock-up.
Even a big red safety cover over the master kill switch.
Cool mock-up!

A total of 10 detachable panels (1 of them is naked on the upper right). It's not a perfect layout given the constraints of the small real estate.
Two in the middle:
...and two underneath:
I have four identical switches planned around the handle (the OEM (on) off (on) ones for electric windows): 2 for the door locks and 2 for the windows.
The next phase #3 will be about creating the 10 panels, populating them and bolting them to the dash.
Thanks for taking a peek!

I especially like the OIL red light.
Hopefully in addition to a gauge. I had also.
That came on on the track one day, and saved my engine!!!
You could make that big flat panel out of engine turned Aluminum, like a 70's Trans-Am or my old Cosworth!
It's a very racy look for your race car!
You know the one with PW PL and AC! LOL
Yeah - it won't look like a pure breed race car but a pure Brid one

I'm not happy about the apparent AC vents, I might use perforated steel instead, we'll see.
Anyways here's the prototype today. What do you think?
I am considering using black bolts everywhere instead of stainless steel.
Bolt locations are off - hey, it's only a draft:
A color palindrome:
I still need to purchase the fifth gauge:
An Air/Fuel mixture gauge:
None of it is electrically connected yet. That's the next phase, and I suspect it's going to take me a couple months.
Thanks for taking a peek!

I agree on swapping all the bolts to black and why not use all dark lenses for the warning lights on the passenger side.
Our RV has a row or dark red LED’s that will show the house battery status, fresh water status, gray water status, black water status, propane status etc…
They are micro size that set back in the black panel and until I illuminate them you can’t even see them.
Here is a picture of the panel.
The small spots across the top are the LED’s set in the panel the larger dots towards the middle are the push buttons.
They are really bright when illuminated and work off 12 vdc.

- less stainless steel
- less color
- more black & white
- more discrete air vents.
So here's what I have in mind:
A. The switch guards
Easy, I'll use the black version:
B. The hardware
Easy again, black bolts:
C. The warning/indicator lights
I didn't find super small LED lights but found these that fit the black & white theme. I'll use them everywhere (a total of 13 if you counted):
(Drill diameter is 8mm instead of 12mm for the old ones)
D. The gauges
I got them two years ago and never really liked them because of the stainless-steel bezels. Since then, Classic Instruments started to produce some sets with "Black Performance Bezels":
The set available doesn't come with 4 5/8" tacho/speedo but 3 3/8" ones:
That's the one - and another good thing is that the 2 5/8" Air/Fuel mixture gauge is also available with the black performance bezel.
And in the spirit of no colors, I'll keep the standard white needles this time.
Another benefit: The large gauges being 1 1/4" smaller in diameter, they give me more freedom for the overall layout.
E. The air vents
I could go with a black version of what I already have:
Or I could go with some 2 5/8" round vents:
But my plan actually is to use a black steel mesh, cleanly sunken underneath the surface. Something like:
Of coure everything is painted black behind the mesh.
That mesh would be used in the upper dash:
It would be used underneath the dashboard, on the passenger and driver sides.
And finally, it would be used in the center of the dashboard, above the 5 gauges, given my new layout:
The Knock sensor light, the Start button and the Key lock are also relocated.
That's it folks. Thoughts?

Now if I could make just one suggestion.
I love your oil warning light, in addition to the gauge, but...
I would make it LARGE and read OIL.
I say that, because I had mine come on once, at 145mph, at 6000 rpm, and that light saved my engine!
I got the engine turned off before the psi gauge even hit zero.
It is amazing how much wind noise there is at that speed once you turn off the engine.....
