Default Different seats 1979

I have a 79 with original seats in good condition. My problem is they are very uncomfortable for my wife. She likes to sit straight vs back like the current seats. Also the contour of the back is a contributing factor. I know I could trade her in (wife) but rather a different option. Has anyone replaced seats with a different style and where did they come from. A friend has a 71 and his seats are much different. Would they fit?

The 79-82 cars got the split back bucket seats introduced on the 78 Pace Cars. Regular production 78s and earlier cars have the straight back seats. You can probably swap to the earlier seats if you use your 79 seat tracks.

Did you check if the seat back bumpers are adjustable to a more straight up position?

If you do a search, there are several threads on here about using Fiero seats. Seems to be very popular.

I love the look of my '79 seats and find them very comfortable to sit in but they make it a real bear to get in and out of the car because of the high side bolsters. I'm thinking of converting to the early C3 set style but so far I can't find an early C3 to sit in and try out.

There was a thread here a few months ago where a member put in ... 2005 Mustang seats. They looked awesome, pretty much only a minor track adjustment. Check for the thread.
