Default Swede needs help

Purchased this 71 last week, its been shipped from the Usa to sweden in 2011, and has been stored since then.
Need some help with identifcation numbers, is it matching nr engine, colour etc.
Maybe somebody from Georgia knows this car and whats have been done to it?.
The seller told me he bought it from Essentia insurance company, and its probabably has been stolen therefore the damage on rear quarter panel, smashed window and a broken ignitionlock.
Otherwise the car runs just fine and i can see that alot of parts have been replaced by new ones.
My first plan was to build a track car for historic racing, but the condition of this car is way to good to hack it up.
So i´m just gonna restore it with original colour(red?)etc.
I appreciate any help I can get
Thanks.....

Hejsan, hur står det till?

Little hard to tell, but looks like it's a code 973, which would be "mille miglia red".

Engine stamp pad is on the front passenger side where the block meets the head. The last digits should match the last digits of your VIN.

Hi amfix,
NICE 71!
I'm glad you're considering keeping it intact!
I'm curious about the VIN sequence 3618.... a fairly early built car.... BUT it has the seat pattern that mid 71 and 72 cars had with a deluxe interior.
I wonder if cars that early had that pattern?
Curious?
Regards,
Alan

I would try to contact the State of Georgia Dept. of Revenue and ask if there is any documentation available for the assigned number. Hard to say why the car needed a new ID. Could have been stolen, flood damaged, etc.

Normally the VIN derivative on the engine pad matches the VIN on the driver side windshield pillar, but if the pillar tag has been replaced the car really is a wild card.

Are you sure that's exactly what's on the stamp pad?

It should read V1202CJK

and

C11S103618

if it's the original engine.

CJK is base engine, 270HP with auto transmission. V1202 mean an engine built on Dec. 02 at the Flint engine plant.
