Well after ordering 3 aftermarket ones which all have the same issue not positively snapping in position I found a NOS one. It cost a arm and half a leg but wow, what a difference. I cant stop sliding back & forth. It'll be worn before I install it in the car lol.
In the end it would have been better to order a more expensive NOS one then 3 new replacements. More in stock where it came from.

It's amazing how many of the parts producers have mastered making parts that look like they should, but don't FIT; and making parts that look like they should, but don't WORK!

Nicely put Alan. The neurotic me just couldn't drive the car anymore, knowing the switch wasn't functioning as it should. I use it once a year when the car has to pass it's technical inspection
