One thing I like about the Kwik-lift, is that in about 2 minutes I can roll it out in the driveway and use my pressure washer under different cars and trucks. Now that I'm working on some older trucks, it really helps.
I think the maxjax is pretty cool though. But it being Chinese built spooks me.
My concern with the maxjax is if it has spring loaded locking safety's built in for while the car is being lifted. If not, whats to keep the car from smashing to the ground before the safety bar is installed if there is a loss of hydraulic pressure ?

I don't have a maxjax lift, but I do know that there is a built in orifice that the hydraulic fluid flows through. If pressure is lost, i.e. blown seal, cut hose, etc. the lift will go down at the same rate as when it is fully operable. It can't come down any faster because of the orifice.(love that word) Hope this helps anyone looking at a hydraulic unit.

Prior to new garage had low ceiling and used Kwiklift for years. It was great for parking or working on car. Sold to fellow forum member a few years back.
I have one and love it! I bought it because I don't have the height for a lift and I purchased it in like new conditions for $400. However, the cost of light lifts are so reasonablenow a days that if you have the height you probably be better off with that
