Well when your car is a daily driver your luck sometimes runs out. I finally had everything running and functioning and looking perfect when of course I get into an accident.

Hot shot kid on Suzuki tried to fly around me on my left side while I started a left turn and couldnt manage the bike and smashed into fwd portion of my driverside door then skidded fwd down the quarter panel. He went flying but was OK and no one was hurt. Bike is toast. Fiberglass shattered everywhere. Car is in the shop and should be Ok. Sorry no pics.

I can't wait til my 69 convertible is driving again,
I hear you, in 89 I did my 81 wide body a zillion coats of black paint, stunning show car,
I was scared to drive it, took the fun out of it, and a week out of the shop a dork in a mini van slammed into the rear as I was stopped to make a right hand turn,
it took off the rear wide flare, screwed up the door, crushed the tail, etc etc, I got lucky and insurence fixed it and left me more scared to drive it....
I sold the car to a cop friend who in turn allowed his younger brother to distroy it.
So now the 69 will be sweet, some custom touches and a sound driver, this time in satin black but the fears of driving it are gone for me,
I will insure it for full value to me and if it gets splattered oh well, I will start again or buy the Pantera I want, point is I learned lifes too short to worry about busting a car......

Everyone is okay and your Vette will be fixed. Sounds like a happy ending if that's possible.

Seems like it could have been a lot worse. You and the rider are OK (a miracle for the rider to say the least) and your Corvette should be like new when it's done.

First is to say glad nobody was seriously hurt. But second is to say too bad for your car. Just when things were going well this happened. Well maybe there is some silver lining to it and you get more things fixed and restored in the end.

I've been the guy on the bike, truck turned in front of me, no blinker, I went splat, into the side of his truck. Then he floored it, completely ran over my bike, almost got me, and took off. I miss that bike!

I'm looking for some wood to knock on as i do both (Vettes and Bikes). Like everyone else posted, glad everyone involved is around to tell the story. Hope you get your Vette fixed to a back to normal condition.

Hey, look at it this way, now you can do the "while I'm at it" thing.

The car and the bike are "hardware". They can be repaired or replaced.

The biker is very lucky and will likely change his attitude on what moves he can actual accomplish with his ride in the future. This event may actually have saved his life, in the long run.

Breathe easier that it was only "hardware" that got damaged. Your car will likely be 'good as new' when it gets repaired. Consider this "life experience" as a success...
