think would need more pictures showing condition of the frame, interior, engine compartment, etc. You may be looking at a car worth only 8K.

Fresh painted chrome for even 12 warrants a look; if from what you say, all it needs is tires and you could grab it for around 10.....think you might be all right. Of course the jury is gonna need pics as always.....Good luck.

I am curious as to the fresh paint. Knowing what it cost to paint a Corvette I am wondering to what level the prep work was or what lies under nether a car selling for $10 to $12K with new paint. By your description it all sounds good.

Looks like a vacumn issue with the WW door not fully closing
Looks pretty decent from the side.

From the few photos the car appears to be decent and a good buy. As already stated the frame and birdcage will tell if the car is a good deal.

I am not sure what you want the car to be but the engine has a few mods that need some attention. Not a deal breaker but there is a list of visible things (somewhat cheezy) that would need to be corrected. Some of the parts are fairly expensive to replace with correct GM parts if they are not included with the sell. A/C compressor, Fan, carburetor, distributor, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, ignition shielding can cost $1500 or more. Maybe you ok with the mods then it does not matter. From the outside the car presents itself well.

I think that is a great buy. You better jump on it. You can always find a Challenger.

"they are asking 12k?"

I'm new to the 'Vette world. Before I got my '76 I looked at several cars including a '72. Suffice it to say it wasn't in NEARLY the shape this one is and the owner wouldn't budge on his $10K minimum price. I'm talking buggered, unoriginal steering wheel (looked like it was dug out of a go-cart dealer's trash.). 1/2 the gauges were toast, interior okay but ratty. Visible rust on the frame, no documented history, and the 'paint job.' Holy crap; stippling, swirls and chips. Owner claimed it was 'just done at MAACO!'

Point is, there are some rough examples out there; but this one looks like a real candidate for the money.

Just my uneducated opinion.
