Hey all been a few years since i had one looking at an ontario oranage 72 just painted clean frame bumpers wrong engine but has orig.
they are asking 12k?
Needs tires has all trim rings centers.
no leaks on calipers decent chrome bumpers
new door weather strips.
neew exhaust, new carpet offered him 10k he is interested.
what do you think?
Fresh painted chrome for even 12 warrants a look; if from what you say, all it needs is tires and you could grab it for around 10.....think you might be all right. Of course the jury is gonna need pics as always.....Good luck.
Well the engine compartment need sprucing up for sure, no biggie some valve covers, some paint on intake, alittle detailing etc...
wiper door needs hose hooked up it does move when put vacume is put to it.
but the body alobe!!! just painted cost him alot he didnt want to tell me how much he is losing out on it.
I am curious as to the fresh paint. Knowing what it cost to paint a Corvette I am wondering to what level the prep work was or what lies under nether a car selling for $10 to $12K with new paint. By your description it all sounds good.
He said it was stripped and repainted professionally at terry's autobody here in Bellmore N.Y.
Im sure you can give them a call.
As of right now i might not buy it im decideing between this and a 2010 challenger with 13k miles for 22 grand. guy lost his job has to sell the challenger "another great deal" Plum crazy too!!!
another pic

I am not sure what you want the car to be but the engine has a few mods that need some attention. Not a deal breaker but there is a list of visible things (somewhat cheezy) that would need to be corrected. Some of the parts are fairly expensive to replace with correct GM parts if they are not included with the sell. A/C compressor, Fan, carburetor, distributor, exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, ignition shielding can cost $1500 or more. Maybe you ok with the mods then it does not matter. From the outside the car presents itself well.
Thanks all
This one should be fun, Plenty of room to play!!!
Going to take a second look and hear it run today and check out the original motor that comes with it.
Did i forget to tell you guys that part?? The orig motor comes with the sale complete minus exhaust manifold's but has intake, carb, dist.

I'm new to the 'Vette world. Before I got my '76 I looked at several cars including a '72. Suffice it to say it wasn't in NEARLY the shape this one is and the owner wouldn't budge on his $10K minimum price. I'm talking buggered, unoriginal steering wheel (looked like it was dug out of a go-cart dealer's trash.). 1/2 the gauges were toast, interior okay but ratty. Visible rust on the frame, no documented history, and the 'paint job.' Holy crap; stippling, swirls and chips. Owner claimed it was 'just done at MAACO!'
Point is, there are some rough examples out there; but this one looks like a real candidate for the money.
Oh well the dude sold it on me lol
he said nobody's was looking at it and i would be first at 1:00 today
oh well i know how it goes but he really should have made the next appointment after mine.
Well wasn't meant to be no big deal.
Was i great buy!!!
