Getting started with disassembly. Body mounts and entire interior removed - should be ready to remove the body once I get the body dolly built. So far so good.
There is a checklist online somewhere for things to disconnect before removing the body. Make sure you follow it. You would be suprised at how much tension a woven ground strap can take. If the body doesn't start coming up easily stop and look underneath.
Anytime I hear of someone taking a car apart I want to offer this bit of advise. Don't through anything away! I would get tight for space and tell myself that I would be replacing something anyway and then toss it out only to find out later that I needed it if for nothing more than comparing it to the replacement.
Looking forward to seeing your progress.

I might add to start a photobucket account for the project and take fifteen times more pictures than you think you will need. You can upload directly with the app from a smart phone. My project wound up taking way longer than I had originally planned and I wish I had taken more photos as two years later things that seemed obvious at the time were not so much anymore. It is also nice to have documentation of your work for later.
Good luck on your build.

This^^
Also, be sure to label everything, and take plenty of pics.
Good luck.
Thanks everyone for the great advice. So far I think I've used about a half a roll of tape for labels and I currently have about 150 pics on my phone. My basement, ping pong table, and garage is full pf parts. Hopefully I'll build the body dolly this weekend and take some more pics once it's in use. Also, I think my daughter is getting concerned that I'll be kicking her out of the garage soon - lol! (Maybe I will) Keep that advice coming. Thanks again.
every time I hear of someone doing this, I want to say DON'T DO IT!!!! Nah, just kidding....just plan on spending way more money and more time than you expect. Oh and have fun and good luck!
Here is a link to my project in case you are interested:
I have just finished complete disassembly of my 78. Got tired of trying to read the black Sharpie on the blue tape, went and bought a box of shipping labels, approx 2 x 3. Now I can read it all, and can even color code w/ different color sharpies. Figure I can use all the help I can get. Good luck.

wait till the end to decide what is garbage and what can be resold and what you really need to re-use
Get a couple of boxes of ZipLoc 1 quart bags. They have a white printed label on them which will allow ink pen to write on it. Great for holding bolts from a specific location and keeping all together with the removed item.
