Default 144 blower questions

I have searched and searched but can't seem to find a sure answer to my question.

Will a 144 blower fit on a small block with a L88 hood?

My 75 that I recently picked up has a fresh 383 and I have always wanted a supercharger

I can't seem to find any solid info it will fit with that hood. I want more power and don't want to replace the motor abd shy from a pro charger due to loving the old school look of a roots blower.

So while it fit? Anything else I need to take into consideration?

Thanks

I suspect you are discussing a Weiand 144 supercharger or an equal equlivant. Not that it is the same topic, I went to the manufacturer to see if a certain manifold/carburetor would fit under my Corvette hood. I think there are maybe a few websites out there to help you with your quest...

I still get shivers with a 6-71 or 8-71 for that matter sticking through the hood. We all heard it before, once you cross over to supercharger world, go for the full effect, lots of shiney and blower whine.

Just my 2 bits.

You are talking the little blowers like B&M made? in the 80's they were called under hood blowers,
I used to see a vette with one at shows but it had weird cool side draft carbs
They should fit under the aftermarket L-88 hood, kind of the best of both worlds the cool of the blower the extra power but lacking many hassles of the thing sticking up out of the hood,
A buddy had a 6-71 ( large blower ) on his 77 it was fun for a few minutes it did give ya chills then just made me feel like a kid racer trying too hard, to each their own.

Yeah the little blowers, I wanna keep it simple and add some power but don't want to have to put a big scoop on .

I love the look of the L88 hood so I'm hoping it will work

Check hotrod forums
Those little blowers are great. Doesn't take a lot to spin them, single carbs are fine!
Please keep us informed on progress!

I have 144 ive had a couple of them, they are the best, their are a couple of us running small blowers,100 hp right off the bat, even more when you modify.now about the hood question, yes and no.my setup does not fit under a l88 hood ,but i like my setup, their are small blowers with fuel injection that do fit under l88 hood ,fuel injection gets rid of the carb and thats what sticks out of the hood.Their was a vette called rolling thunder,do a search ,he made a hood out of a L88 hood buy grafting a stinger hood on a l88 hood ,it looked awesome .that hood covered the blower and carb.it can be done.heres couple pics of my setup. My carb just comes through the hood, the choke part.If i was to cut off the choke it would fit,you would need to run a very low profile filter.I will never go naturely asperated engine ever again, the blower adds so much power a NA engine cant give,so much fun to drive, nothing beats them.all my vehicles are blown,i have a f150 truck that has a paxton novi 2000 blower on it.im addited to this kind of power.
