New to the C3 side :)
It ironically was sold new 12 miles away in Seguin,TX at Jaminson Chevrolet.....
It is a M20 4speed w/ 3.08 rear gear......
The number match and the engine compartment is 95% original.....
The paint is older but very nice and presentable.....it has new tires, shocks and brakes/brake hoses.....
The conv. top is new......
The 427 was rebuilt in 1995....it is punched .030 and is all stock with the exception of a little hotter cam.....
It needs a blower motor and wiper motor.....the A/C works and is charged!!!!
I am very happy.....went 1200 miles to go get it and bring it back.....I think the trade is sound and look forward to posting my mods on here.....
It was originally Fathom Green but was painted 988 Burgandy...
I can't belive how intact the car is....it is not top flight....but it is a nice survivor type.....
Questions for the C3 crowd:
Does anyone do aftermarket sidepipes to go under the 69' off road covers like they have for the mid-year cars?
Does anyone sell just the Air Cleaner lid? Mine is pitted....are the fakey lids the same size until I can get this rechromed?
Has anyone played with air filters...it has a K&N but I like the looks of the original foam style....thoughts?
It has new MOOG big block w/AC front springs....but it sits too high.....what is out there? Do SB w/AC have enough lbs./in?
Here it is.....

Hope to chat with your crowd soon!
Peace,
Jebby

As for the moog springs, I have the same springs on my '71 454 w/ AC and it sat too high also. Especially after I installed aluminum heads, intake, headers etc. I cut 3/4 coil off them and it fixed it. In your case maybe 1/2 turn would be better (heavier).
Here's how mine sits:

As for timing, I'd stick to 36 dgr total + 10 dgr vacuum.

The last 427/390 I built...liked 40 total on the dyno....I will go with a full MSD on this because I loved it on my 66'......

Not too many 400 horse AC verts out there. Looks like a nice survivor car. Get a NCRS judging manual before you change out anything. It can only be original once.
Gary
There are several things that are must haves for me on Vettes....
One is MSD ignition....the other is a fiberglass rear spring....
How many 400 horse verts were built out of the 2072?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
It is a nice car....like I said...it needs some stuff but my 66' did too....
It has MUCH more pluses than minuses......the engine compartment could be used for restoration reference I think.....
It will look much different in the months to come....first things are it stance and exhaust.....
I build carbs for cars and bikes so the tri-power will get a bath in my Ultrasonic cleaner....and all new parts from AED.....

VERY nice looking 69!!!
Be careful what you do to get the front ride height down.... that'll give you quite a rake since the rear ride height looks to be a inch or two high too.
With the original 27" tall tires the dimension, (front and rear), was about 28" from the ground to the center of the wheel opening. Your bb with a/c might have been 1/4" to 1/2" lower in the front typically.
These dimensions should help you figure what dimensions you're working towards with your BFG T/A tires.
Again... a great looking convertible!
