Mt daughter lives in Allen Texas and she says everything is a block of ice. Power was out for a while and schools were closed Friday along with just about everything else. They are anxiously awaiting a warm up to melt the ice and snow.
That's a reminder of what's ahead for those of us up here in the northeast.
We had an ice storm reach West Texas (Alpine) and lost power from Sun Nov 24th through Wed 27th, got it back Thanksgiving am. A few hundred power lines snapped from the weight of the ice. Realized how we are not prepared for ice storms. Used to hurricanes, being from Florida, now we have to re-prepare. We couldn't get out of our driveway until Monday am the 25th. Another episode of freezing weather, everything covered in ice this am. Not going out, on call for the surgery dept, hope I'm not needed. My vette is happy it is garaged, I'm sure. My Jeep Wrangler, not so much.
YUCK! I hate winter. We got the same string of crap here in western Kentucky. Freezing rain, sleet (my daughter said it was raining ***** of ice LOL) and snow. The roads are solid ice. Not as bad as they were predicting, and thank God not like we had in 2009. This whole region got slammed with 1/2 inch ice that knocked out power for a month for some folks. It was crazy. I got power back after 5 days, a hot shower never felt so good.
That does not even rate a light dusting up in these parts.Snow is when you can't read the street signs.A bad snow is when you can't see the house next door.
