Even on '72 and up- it's the VIN tag in the windshield that's used to determine engine option, not the certification sticker.

Maybe we've invented a new definition of 'matching numbers'?

Unfortunately, I did not take a picture before I removed my blue sticker, but you can see where it was positioned on my '73...

Second bummer was that I was not able to remove it in one piece... I spent a lot of time and patience to remove in one piece and just wasn't successful... It was VERY brittle...

For the most part, can see the pertinent data on it... I plan on getting a repo, what source are you using??? Wonder if they would be willing to type in the extra Gross Vehicle Weight data, et al....

Why remove? There is no way to cover it during painting the car? I always wonder why it needed to be removed.

Change of color and change of doors... Replaced door due to too much rust on original door frame...

A hhhh that explains your car. I wonder why on mine it is gone? Same color paint and original door. I have seen other cars with it missing just like mine. Any other reasons to remove it?

Glue comes undone, corners peel, get torn, faded, looks like crap so you remove it. Or you want a clean look. No reason to replace it unless of course someone sees beauty & correctness in having this decal.

Our painter taped over the one on our 73 BB vert and when he removed the tape it peeled away the top layer of the label and ruined it so we installed a repo and did not think much of it.

Won't happen again now that I know its a points deduction.

You can tape it off, but it never looks right. Always see the paint line. Easy to tell if cars had a repaint.

Here's an original sticker, original paint, note the code on the bottom left. As its been said before this was rolled from the POP.

Early shark can you make out the ink markings on the bottom left?

Somes guys just do not repaint the jambs and blend around inside door edge. Depends on condition of course.

Hey Rogman, do they still have the downstairs bar at the Ramstein O-club with all the writing on the ceiling? Good times.

Wife and I are gonna be in Pasadena if the tickets come through!!

Yes, that's terrific. I'm very fortunate to have both blue certification labels show the original engine and trans stamping.

I am very curious to see how yours turned out. Pretty sure mine is from the same place as recommended by NCRS.

The label came in the mail today.

It looks really good. I was surprised to see it appears to be in two parts.

Part I is the blue label itself.

Part 2 is the clear plastic covering.

I take it you put on the blue label first right on the door. Then follow it with the label on top of it. Looks like you have two center TWO labels onto the door. Any tricks on doing this? You only get ONE shot at it.

I just took my time. Blue label is easy.

I memory serves me I pulled off the clear backing paper a little at a time once I had it lined up with what looked to be an equidistant border all the way around.
