Most of the classic cars that I have owned in my life did not have such huge aftermarket support as the vette and some others have. In a way I guess it was the thrill of hunting down that one certain part or coming across that nos moulding or handle or this or that. And it's very gratifying when you put that certain part on your car. I was for years and in some ways very critical of the guy who shows up to a cruise or a show in a chevelle for example and the car looks good but its nothing but a parts catalog on wheels. Never impressed me.
So how do I feel now that I own one of those cars? I really can't explain it but It seems different to me when its a Vette. Stupid I know.
Let the flogging begin.

half the enjoyment of my current project is hunting parts . try finding stainless trim for an Edsel. no catalog to pick up and order from.
with a lot of cars these days . if you have a title you can build one from the ground up.

Very nice engine bay Vettebuyer.
I think my post was misunderstood.............if I dragged you into the muck persuader . it was unintentional. I said I preferred to restore the original stuff. but I have bought parts from a catalog. I also did not condemn anyone for buying from a catalog . its just a last resort with me.

It's all good gentlemen.
Nobody is in any muck. We are just having a intelligent discussion!
Hey mustang....when you gonna cannonball it across the alley so you can check out my reproduction blue label personally? And maybe take the car out for a spin to warm her up before I take her to Kissimmee?
No trips to the east coast on the horizon. I am in the process ( been going on for a while ) moving to the Ocala neck of the woods. I am going to try and get to Kissimmee and have a look around though.
Let me know if you ever get tired of looking at your car. I'm more than happy to help you find a new home with me..
Careful... since I bought the SWC and my wife is car shopping, I am 1 parking spot short and I'm thinking seriously about selling either the '58 or the '69...

There is an exemption in this thread. Look who started the thread.
I am more concerned on there needing a forum name change for the boss when he sells his car. Gosh, all this talk of , wife, selling, corvette....makes me wonder if he will be getting new tires for the car at Sam's prior to listing the car?
Maybe Sam's can figure out how to reattach the original label on his car?

PS, I believe it came from NH originally.
