Mine is very impractical. Like any other C3, for as large as it is on the outside it is very small and cramped on the inside. It seats two and gets lousy gas mileage. You cant put something bigger than a single grocery bag in the cargo area. And its hard to see over that hood that you can pretty much land a small airplane on. But thats why I love it! Practicality is what my 4 cylinder Honda Accord is for

I think they're very practical. I get 24 mpg on the highway and you can get a whole loaf of bread and a dozen eggs in the back! Great for grocery shopping.

My 73 is very practical. I get about 4 months between fill ups; during the winter.

Back in the day, I cut up a child seat and had it sit on my parking brake housing and used my shoulder harness to secure it on my 68 coupe. It was my daily driver for 4 1/2 years after a divorce. Why does it have to be practical, it's a Vette! Lou.

You're exageratting. My husband and I fit all the groceries we care to buy in the back of the Corvette and that's several bags.

My Corvettes are not practical..plain and simple.
They serve a purpose, but it's not practicality.
Gas mileage?..no idea.

Is this true that you can actually fit several full grocery bags in the back? I don't own a Vette but have thought about getting a C3. Where is this 'back' ? Don't the seats lean up against the back ?
BTW, can u lay down dry-cleaning (shirts etc) in the trunk space when the convertible top is down??

When i first got my 75 we used it for everything, if you don't fill the grocery bags to the top one can get six bags in the back.
308 rear and i get 18 mpg on the highway with the air on.

Its all what you want to make of it, have to be creative and adaptable.

Consider the economic practicality in terms of Corvette therapy. I choose the unrivaled benefits of Corvette Therapy over counseling services or psychotherapy. When you factor in the valuation linked to the amazing help on this forum, it is worth more than my monthly insurance premium deducted for mental health services.

Learning about and working on the car's systems, and driving the car, shift my frown upside down.

I get about 10 mpg, stock engine 3.08 automatic. Maybe I should look into that, seemed normal until now.

12 mpg? You drive like someone that just robbed the local Quiki Mart? I'd think at LEAST 15 mpg if you drove like a white boy. Also, if your running a 4 barrel Q-jet, the primaries ARE small. Smaller than a 2 barrel Rochester. So if your not getting into the secondaries and aren't running 4:88's, you should do better than an average of 12 mpg. I'd almost bet your secondaries might be coming in a tad too fast and you didn't know it. Just a thought. Back in the day when Quadrajets were known commonly known as Quadrajunks, it was because someone didn't know how to PROPERLY set one up. Not just kit it. Seen many of these good carburetors tossed in favor of a super rich idling by design Holley, simply because someone either didn't know how, didn't care or simply didn't take the required time to set it up for the car it's sitting on.

I get to drink a lot of inexpensive (relatively) good beer working on my cars, rather than drinking expensive not so good beer at the bar.

My 4 piece fly rods will fit in the back. Sitting in the kickboat flyrodding for bluegills with the car in view is cool.

Much cheaper than professional therapy.

My grandkids love em!

and the best part is that without it I would have to determine a logical place to put every spare penny I make!!

Practical maybe, Reliable (one day yes), my wifes SUV battery went dead on her while i was out of town working a few weeks ago. I schooled her over the phone how to turn on the battery switch, set the carb choke and she drove it to work, lunch and back home, she said it performed flawlessly. I was glad because i had just installed a 200-4R and had only put about 10 miles of test driving on it. My daughers boyfriend replaced the SUV battery that night.....

Your time will come and then you'll be able to answer your questions.

There is no trunk. There is a rear storage area.

My '76 is totally impractical. I have no idea what I get for gas mileage, and I don't care! While it is slow, it is a blast to drive!

Practical = Capable of or suitable to being used or put into effect; useful:

I think my vette fits the definition perfect.

I bought my vette to drive as much as possible weather permitting. I just got to drive it the other day after dropping in a Big Block, installing headers and rebuilding the suspension. I got about 9 miles to the gallon driving to and from work about 90 miles. I stopped at the store on the way home and got groceries and more gas ,. picked my son up at school, went to Wendys drive thru, then to scouts. got more gas . Then went home. I think its very practical.
