Hello folks,
Its been a long time since I posted on this forum.
last time I was here I owned a 76 L82 coupe. Unfortunately I had to sell that one. now a few years later I have moved across Canada to my home province of Alberta and found myself a 1971 LT1 car. I bought it without an engine and a few other parts. But this car is leaps and bounds above my first vette. I have been in, under, over and all around this car. As near as I can tell it is all original, right down to the weather stripping. The paint needs refreshment, I am building a nice 350 power plant for it. and its a work in progress but I hope to be driving it by the summer.
uploading pictures right after this post.
Peace..

Thanks for the welcomes.
Yes your right the stripes aren't right. the LT-1 number stickers would never fit in where they go. I don't know why. maybe someone in the community knows why they are like that???
the vin, engine bay sticker, door sticker, data plate everything says its an LT-1. This car has not been repainted.
perhaps it has something to do with the previous years strike. It was built in Jan 71. I dunno just spit balling.
Im building a 350 from an 80s Camaro. its bored .060 over and has a mild cam. so it should surpass the data plates 330 hp. It has the original M21 4 speed with a 10.5 inch clutch.
my issues right now are:
The car came without a radiator. I am going to buy aftermarket aluminum with electric fans. Funny thing is the size of rad. its a 26 x 17 core radiator. I assume this is because of the LT-1 engine?
Next I am going to setup a hydraulic throwout bearing for the clutch instead of the zbar linkage. This is going to be a $600 bill but very worth it in the end I think.
This is to get it on the road and turning heads. When that happens I will start building a 427 with a nice 5 or 6 speed.
