After you polish them.....wipe them down with a fast-evaporating ge-greaser.....
then apply a couple coats of quality automotive clear-coat (NOT the rattle-can stuff!)
When they get dirty---clean them with soap & water.
They will hold the shine for several years!

Hmm..... shoot the clear straight on to the bare aluminum? No sealer or anything needed for clear to adhere to the aluminum?

I've got a set like those, made by Shelby, CAL 500, marked on the back. Thinking about polishing them up and seeing if they fit. Came off a dune buggy that was drilled to GM pattern. even have the original polyglass tires...though I don't think their safe for street use any more...
