Classic Car insurance companies
Guys, who is the best at insuring our classic corvettes. I have a agreed policy with Hagerty now but, the parent company is Allstate, and after being with them for over 16 years they really put me through the ringer when my wife got in an accident. I just feel like I'm not going to give any branch any business anymore. Can I please ask for your suggestions. Thank you

I have used Grundy for a few years after starting with Hagarty. Same coverage-lower cost. I've had 8 cars in 2013 alone and no hassle, immediate email of a cert to use for registration and great communicators My 2 cents

Did you ever have to file a claim? I'd be more concerned with how they are in giving you their money and not taking yours.

NCM and Adam Boca. Great coverage, reasonable prices. Good people to work with.

This autumn, for the first(!) time in 34 years, my Corvette quit on me just a mile from home. (Another 200 yards to crest the hill and I could have coasted all the way back, but, not to be.) Called Hagerty and a local towtruck showed up in 25 minutes or less. Driver seemed like a nice guy, careful and knowledgable about the right frame holes to use to pull the car up onto the flatbed.
No charge. Gave the guy a $10 tip.
(Later, I discovered the kink in the rubber fuel line that feeds the fuel pump. Twelve bucks plus UPS later, and I was back in business.)

American Collectors Insur., and Foremost Insur. .....Full coverage/Agreed Value for the last 10 years.
I've never filed a claim.
Has anyone got any info on how well that they respond-to/honor a claim?

Just switched to NCM. Adam Boca is great to deal with and a CF member. Previous company raised my rates 30% in one year in addition to the usual small annual increases. Been there 6 year with 0 claims.

I just signed up with Hagerty; my regular company doesn't do agreed value. But, not too happy to learn 'AllSnake' is Hagerty's parent company. I noticed on the paperwork the underwriter is a firm in Minnesota - Essentia. Any relation?
My opinion about insurance companies, is - they're like movies: no two people have the same opinion about one. One guy's in good hands with AllSnake, the next one washes his hands of them. Ya just never know until you have a claim. But one thing is almost universally certain: you WILL repay the claim with higher premiums.

Thanks. I was paying about $300 bucks a year for 35G in insurance. I sent a quote to Heacock insurance company and for the same agreed value they were gong to charge me $262 bucks. I will look into NCM though. Grundy site for some reason was all screwed up to get a quick quote. Thanks for the suggestions

From Condon & Skelly, to Hagerty, and now I am with NCM. NCM has much better rates, and Adam and Bobbie Jo are so accommodating. What NCM DOES NOT offer though, is towing coverage for our other vehicles. Hagerty covered our 2 DDs even though they were insured by a different carrier- but it should be mentioned that Hagerty's towing, or "roadside assistance" cost an extra $85.00.
I've never had a claim so I can't rate any of them. That experience is the truest way to measure the cost effectiveness of a carrier's coverage. A thread about claim experience might be useful.

I don't know what's going on with Grundy. They were bought out a couple years ago by a larger company. They also had been a sponsor on "My Classic Car" for years and now they are gone. Sounds like someone is trying to squeeze profits.

I would not rely on the online quote, When I first did that with NCM ins it was about 100.00 above what I was paying. When I called they were able to match plus go under what I was paying.

I know this thread is a few months old, but FWIW, American Collectors Insurance - just received my policy with a 19% increase (NY). Have had them for 20+ years with no claims.
