The T can be threaded/re-threaded to screw onto the automatic shift lever (if there are no pushbuttons on the T)....
You also could (but I wouldn't) remove the lever/T-handle assembly from the manual bracket assembly and adapt it to the automatic shift lever bracket assembly---but that's much harder to do.

I would just get a low end aftermarket auto shifter and install it then the "T" handle skull 8 ball or whatever would screw right on and most of the aftermarkets will lock out reverse from hit by mistake.....
