I see the wiper door switch that is mounted to tach has 3 vacuum ports but all the diagrams I see it only uses 2 of the ports. Is the 3rd port plugged or is it a vent?
Hi,
Yes, the third nipple is the vent.
It's the one nearest the plunger and gets a short piece of hose on it that exits through the firewall in the same grommet as the other 2 hoses (1 white stripe and 1 red stripe).
Regards,
Alan

Thanks
The switch on the tach has 3 ports.
The one nearest the elec plug goes to the headlamp switch
The perpendicular one closest to the can at the other end goes to the override switch beneath the dash. The last one is a vent - you can put a piece of foam over it if you are worried about dust/dirt.
Alan is preoccupied with the Pitt v UMD game and was referring to the override switch for the wiper arm.

That 'vent' is there to allow air to flow back into the line that had vacuum. It's a good idea to put a piece of 'open cell' foam over it so that dirt/debris will not get into the valve seat inside.
No worries at all Alan. You are always a huge help. Now where do you recommend I get new door panels and what quality of weatherstripping should I get?
Alan,
You would make a killing on a restoration by pics bound book.
I think you must have nearly every aspect of the corvette in photo's.
We have any book publishers out there????
No seriously I haven't seen a ? you couldn't answer via pictures.
They are priceless.
Always enjoy seeing your contributions to any post here.

Mac,
I'm not answering for Alan but Wilcox has very good weather stripping kits.
Door panels are a tough one cause non fit perfectly out of the box.
From what I've read here allot of panels need tweaking.
The nicest origs you can find would be the way I would go.
