If the leather is not ripped or gouged badly, then find some auto upholstery shops in your area and investigate what it would take them to "recondition" the existing seat covers. A good shop can clean, repair, restitch, re-dye your covers and they will look 30 years newer.
Only you can decide if that is better than replacing them. But, reconditioning IS one of your options. Check it out, at least.
It will be less cost if you remove the seats and take them in. But, they can easily remove the covers and reinstall them. If you REPLACE the seatcovers, you'll have to do it all.
Hi VR,
There are only a COUPLE of manufacturers; many people like the interiors from Al Knock.
There are MANY vendors; so find out who's interior pieces they're selling and shop for best price.
Regards,
Alan
Everyone I talked to recommended Al Knoch or Willcox. I went with Willcox b/c they were a lil cheaper and just finished all mine about 2 months back. Great fit and looked good w/ minimal trimming. I will say that on my 78(3 door rear compartment), it's a hair(and I mean a small hair) too short where it was pre-cut around rear compartment doors. I had already mounted and lightly glued on rear wall. Stretched and fit as best as possible it was still very close. Right now, its not noticeable, but if you lift a rear door and the plastic trim moves ever-so-slightly, you can see the edge of the carpet outside of the compartment door trim. Too be honest, I was so far involved at that point to take it out and send back. No one will ever notice but me and it wasn't worth the headache. Just my $.02...
