Hi,
I recently installed a rebuilt 700R4 trans and it seams to shift OK, but when checking the pressure it is a constant 200 psi even when revving,in gear or moving the TV cable. So I tried Google and found 20 pages on constant pressure after market valve bodies info, I have a stock VB.
Does any one know what the pressures should be with the stock 700R4 trans?
Thanks, Dean

Approximately 75 to 90 psi at 800 rpm in Park Neutral and Drive.......
100 to 200 psi when shifting itself/depending on "heavy foot".....
I really do not think it should stay above those readings (I also installed a Transmission pressure gauge since the trans has so many miles on it.....215,000)
Check the site below....I was able to email/question them/buy the parts that they recommended...."saved" my 700R4 from a $1,000 rebuild 30,000 miles ago by buying $100 worth of suggested-problem-solving parts.
I will buy one of their rebuild kits if/when the transmission clutches ever wear out....LOL!

Your TV valve may be stuck in the 'full open' position. There have been re-designs done on that valve...even the aftermarket folks have redesigned that valve so that it wouldn't stick. If you release the TV cable completely and the TV pressure doesn't drop, that is most likely the problem.
