Tachometer question
I have a '69 L68 car that has a 6500 RPM factory tach installed. I bought the car with this tach. According to "correct" factory information, the tach should be 5600 RPM. Today on ebay I noticed a '69 L36 car with the same 6500 RPM tach. Both these cars should have had the 5600 RPM tachs. Do you think it was a factory mistake or did the tachs get changed? Seems to me that if the cars came from the factory this way, it could be a real problem as the cars would be over revving. I know its a real pain to change them so I doubt it was done just for fun. Any ideas? Just curious.

I'm sure there are lot of people ot there with cars that they are sure should have come with the 6500 tach, and somehow came with a 5600 tach. I'd be willing to bet they would be willing to trade with you!
But if you are certain a 5600 tach would be correct for your car, and you would rather it be correct. Buy a 5600 of ebay, and sell the 6500 on ebay, and pocket some gas money.
