Thanks Karsten, that's the compressor that I upgraded to on my 69. Did you have any belt alignment issues. I had tons of trouble but finally got it right. I'll check out that Hooker A/C mount. T
I didn't believe he did but he had a hell of a time getting the right belt. Someone don't the road removed the compressor, brackets and belt so everything is new now. The 1st belt the shop sent the wrong length in a mis marked sleeve. It took 3 tries to get them to find the correct one and send it to him.
You should take a look at the Sanderson Block Huggers. I fitted a pair to my '74 and while I think they would hook up to a stock exhaust system, I made up my own pipes out of 90 and 45 degree mandrel bent tubing so that the engine pipe did not run under the filter on the driver's side. It "kinks" outward so that the filter can drop straight down between the engine block and exhaust pipe. I did a similar thing on the passenger side so that the engine pipe is not sitting directly under the starter motor.
I joined them up to the standard exhaust pipe before it goes through the cross member. So far, so good. Oh, I also used Stage 8 header bolts on the Sandersons and have never had to touch them since installation. They do exactly as the company promises.
