Hi L,
Welcome! New Member!
That small hose is the supply for the vacuum operated part of the heater/defroster controller in the shifter console.
It connects to a large yellow (in 71, ? in 69) striped hose that has a T in it. That little clip on the hose makes the connection.
Dou you have the 1969 Assembly Instruction Manual for your car? It REALLY helps with things like this.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Alan,
Thank you very much for the help. This has been driving me nuts. Looks like the previous owner may have bypassed this perhaps not knowing where it went to. All I have is the Chilton book. Do you know where I can pick up the 1969 Assembly Instruction Manual ?

All the vendors carry the AIMs. You can get them in hard copy paper or in CD format. Order your choice. The AIM will help with many of the questions you've asking.

The Chilton's is occasoinally handy, but almost always a little too C3 generic.

Hi l,
As I mentioned in your other post you should consider buying the 1969 Chassis Service Manual in addition to the AIM. The larger vendors carry it and once you have it you'll see how limited the Chilton manual is.

Alan
