True Story: My wife & I go to the Smokey Mountains on vacation every few years, and have never seen black bear. We asked a Park Ranger, and he said the bears usually come down the mountain around 3P.M. in the higher elevations,
So......my wife and I left our rental cabin an hour early with the video camera stored in it's case.
We were halfway up one of the mountain roads when I told "Mrs. Know-it-all........errrrrr.....my Wife..........to get the camera ready and turn it on since it was 2:58P.M.
"No! The Ranger said that the bears come out after 3P.M.! I'm not getting the camera out for no reason!"
Wellllllllllllllll..........needless to say, the next curve we go around.....a HUGE black bear jumps into the road in front of our car....stands on his hind legs looking at us......then runs off down the mountainside while my wife fumbles for the camera----at which time my darling blonde-headed wife rips the camera out of the bag/starts recording/and yells "Where's the bear!???"
I yelled a few choice words back in her direction/she snapped back that "Bears only come out after 3P.M----It's nor MY fault that WE didn't get a video of him"!
To which I replied "SO IT WAS THE BEAR'S FAULT---I GUESS HIS WRIST WATCH WAS SET 10 MINUTES AHEAD!!!!!"

I lost all my "atta-boys" for the next two days....but at least it was nice and quiet on the mountain hiking trails )
