Default Power windows voltage?

Hi

Quick question on the power windows switches on my '69 there seems to be no 12 volts at the switches.

There is 12v at the fuse.

Does the voltage run to a regulator? if so could someone tell me where the regulator is located, a lot of my wiring has been "modified" by P.O.

thanks

Power windows have a circuit breaker under the hood. The A31 option section in the AIM shows where the breaker mounts and how it is wired. If memory serves, there is also a power window relay under the console. There is no fuse for the power windows unless it is in the accessory circuit.

There is no separate voltage regulator on the 69s as there was on the 68s. For 69 and later cars, the voltage regular is part of the alternator.

Bad circuit breaker or break in the power supply wire [somewhere].

Can't swear for all years, but p/w has a interrupt relay under/behind the radio in the console....it cuts power to the window switches when the ignition is off.....when installing my windows, I eliminated that relay and just run my windows off a 30 amp fuse I wired in.....
