Default Headlightswitch on 79' vacuum question.

While removing my headlight switch, I noticed it has nipples on it for vacuum. But on our car the vacuum switch to open the headlights is directly under the steering column.

I've seen the same set up on another 79, is this normal?

The headlight switch should open the headlights. The vac. switch under the dash is to manually open the headlight (if you want the headlights up when the headlights are off - example would be to wash the car.

Thanks, that explains a lot, I don't have any vacuum lines attached to the headlight switch, I also don't see any floating around inside under the dash, where would they connect to?

Thank you very much, somewhere along the line someone, removed the lines. Kind of wonder if it was because the switch was bad, or they couldn't remember how it all went back together. I'll reconnect it the way it is supposed to be and go from there.
