I saw that, that was an interesting read. It really puts to rest any question what "CE" stands for.

Now if there was only some holy cow document that listed what was INSIDE all of those CE motors, that would really answer alot of questions.

About your date stamp, how does that happen?! Is that date code gang stamped, so he grabbed another "3"?

In a round about way, that question has been answered too. There was a cardboard tag attached to the engine with a GM part number on it. The part number gave all the particulars of what was inside the engine. Once the engine was installed in the car, the tag no longer had any importance.

Let's start a rumour that someone somewhere has a copy of an imaginary master serial number lists that identifies which CE engine was built to what GM part number. I blame Obama and the NCRS.
