Has anyone ever had to replace the retainers for the rocker molding? I'm kind of new here. Just got my 75 last year and after a long brutal winter here in MI Im trying to get her road worthy by next month with a few upgrades. Adding vent grills. Well anyway i went to take off my rocker molding and every screw stripped out beyond repair.
Found this replacement kit: http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductD...GR-SR&CTitle=&
Just have never done it before and can't seem to find any threads on it. Either way at this point it has to be done because I had to drill the screws out to get the moldings off. Just need to know how to get the retainers off. Do I have to torch or cut them out or is there something I'm missing? Any and all help is appreciated.

Or, you could just drill them out from the outside (1/4" drill, as I remember) and epoxy some 10-24 threaded T-nuts in on the backside. Pick them up at Lowe's for pocket change.
[Clean off the backside WELL and use a good epoxy, like JB Weld stick-type epoxy.] Once you install the rocker panel, the screws will hold it all together. I've done this on 2 screws that were rusted solid and broke off. Works fine.

Wish I'd have got this last night. Already ordered the kit. But its great to have more options for others that may run into this. Would've saved me about $30 I'm sure. Thank you.
