Don't get me wrong, I love the tires and most likely that is what I'm going to put on next, but I couldn't help but notice that many are using this tire. Any particular reason or is it just coincident?
My guess is because that tire has been around for 25 years or more.
I just replaced my 18 year old Goodyears yesterday with T/A's. I'm hoping the upcoming snow melts fast so I can get out with them this weekend. They have to be an improvement over the "hardened" ones that came off....at least that's what I'm telling myself.

What did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking?
They are decent tires for 'normal' use. If you want to road race your car or go 120+ mph in it, go get some 17 or 18" wheels and buy some better performing (and higher dollar) tires.
For most of us, the T/A Radials fit the bill. They are the right size (235 to 255R60-15), reasonable cost, and available. They are relatively quiet, ride and handle well (at street and highway speeds), and don't wear out before their "shelf life" is up.
Not sure why but anything except white letter BFG's on stock 8" Vette rims looks funny to me. I have 275x15 TA's on the back of my `76 and 235x15's on the front. The sidewalls on the 275's are too tall and flat. They should be rounded more like the 235's but I can live with it.
BFG's have nice small sized letters, tastefully done..unlike 99% of the other gaudy/oversized/ugly looking names and letters of brands of white letter tires.
I run the BFG's on my Corvettes, because they just look "right", for these cars.
I have a set of Cooper Cobras on my `90 5.0 Mustang. 275 x 15's on the back, 225's on the front. They're about the same as BFG's for performance and appearance. I tend to associate them with Mustangs because of the 'Cobra' name.

These Dunlops were on my 77 when I got her last year. Been on there since 2008. They are brand new and have zero miles on them. I don't know how good they are but I plan on running them.
