I had a 2-stroke trimmer that pissed me off for the last time. I took it by the trimmer head and swung it around and battle-axed it into the concrete driveway. Pieces went everywhere. Ain't no fixin' it now. When I got done, my wife peering through the window said "Do you feel better now?"
You felt better though didn't you

First thing comes to mind is when I was visiting father-inlaw, I met a club member who gave me a windshield for my old Blazer I laid it up on the roof rack inbetween 3 moving blankets to protect it. Didnt matter, especially when a blazer has a slight curve to the shape. So I went to ratchet strap it down, all I heard was a muffled " snap ". I left it up on the rack, drove home and never told anyone of my stupiditiy.

Next was returning a brand new battery I thought was dead, and having the counter guy pull the two black protective caps off the posts and telling me to try it now.

Theres more just not wanting to wastes your guys time.

Oh my god!!! I did the same exact thing! I replaced the seal because the old sealer had dried out and was leaking badly. Was very happy when the job was completed until I saw the bulge in the roof. The screw didn't go all the way through, but made a nice mound that will not go back down.

I was not a happy camper, but most people never even notice...

I get up and go to work every Monday thru Friday instead of going fishing or working on the cars. How dumb is that?

Let me add: seller told me the dash lights didn't work, air & heat doesn't work, power steering hoses leak, passenger window doesn't go all the way up, new mufflers - but very old exhaust, newer paint (but wrong color I discovered later) with a lot on orange peel, I made an offer much less than the asking price - and he accepted it! I should have ran but I got bit by that famous "Vette" bug.
Do you feel my pain?
Wait about a month from now when you really find out what's on the list of problems. Sometimes it takes a while to discover everything. If I ever get in a wreck with mine I'm really gonna feel stupid because I'm just too tall for it and won't survive a bouncing around.

Ok, so it happened today...or I should say I discovered it today. When I ordered my front suspension rebuild kit from Zip Corvettes, I discovered that they had actually sent me three of one thread and one of the other even though the packages were labelled as two RH and two LH threads. So I called and they said they would send me a replacement when they came in, but they were on back order. I needed the one that screws in to the tie rod tube clockwise, just like you screw in a bolt. I thought that would be considered a RH thread, but I guess not as I now have two tie rod ends that will not thread into the end of the tie rod.

So I guess normal bolt thread patterns are referred to as LH threads...

Recently refurbished the seats with new foam and factory leather covers. My father and I were pretty proud of the job and decided to celebrate by having lunch and a "couple" refreshing drinks at the local watering hole. Got back and realized that we hadn't re-installed the shoulder belt trim piece. Had to feel out where the screws insert and pray that I was right as I was poking the holes out. Better to make sure the job is 100% complete before "celebrating". Needless to say, after a lot of sweating and double checking, everything ended up well.

Did I ever do anything dumb? Let's see... there was my first wife. And after replacing the windshield I was reinstalling the trim and ... The second windshield was a bit cheaper because the salesman felt sorry for me!

I had just installed the new motor, broken it in and timed it.

The car wasn't finished, but I was anxious to shake it down a little and check every thing out.

I sat in the car and hit the starter...VAROOM, it fired right up.

Well, since I was sitting there, and it seemed to be running so well....I might as well take it around the Cull De Sac and see how she does.

Pull out of the drive, up to the cul de sac, a quick spin and back to the garage.

Upon getting back to the garage, I realized that I had left all the brand new screws and hardware for the interior sitting on top of the rear spoiler.

As I retraced my ride on foot with a box, picking up all the nuts and screws, my neighbors were having a great time asking who built the car?

Why was it falling apart?

I should take it back to the mechanic, etc etc etc etc

I'm not saying that a C3 is a GOOD place to put a bunch of money, but there are worse hobbies out there.

I have a RC truck...a REVO 4WD thing with an amazing engine and all the other whizzygigs. Does over 60 MPH and jumps 12 feet...vertically...without breaking a sweat. All told, I probably have well over $2k into the thing. Probably closer to $3k. Now it adorns a shelf in my office.

I have about $15k into my C3 and could probably sell it for $15k if I waited for the right person. I could sell it for $12k in a day, if I wanted.

And to all the naysayers that think a C3 is a really bad investment, I have one word for you: BOAT.

I addition to buying a C3 I also hooked up a battery backwards, which took out the alternator.
