For some reason a few weeks ago I got so pissed off at a Holley 750 double pump that had been sitting for 25 years and the butterfly's were froze up on. After soaking them in everything etc. etc. I got so pissed i threw it in the trash. Not sure if that was a good thing or not but it is gone now no matter what.
As for my car project, I didn't install the bushing caps on the rear suspension strut rods inboard bushings....didn't make it to the end of the driveway..............
I wouldn't sweat it too much. Those things are a dime a dozen at any good swap meet. We've all done things that make us scratch our heads in wonder later on.

This reminds me of the time that I was having problems with a VCR eating tapes. I promptly disconnected it and placed under my pickup truck's rear tire. Flattened it like a pancake. 68Thunder427 I like to call it "satisfaction" in resolving the problem.
We all have done "something dumb"..some people even admit it.
As for the Holley, they are available at every swap meet you will attend, but not for "a dime a dozen" price, they can get pretty spendy.
Next time you might consider an ad here, "free, you pay shipping".

I bought a 4 post lift for my garage a few years ago. I was so excited to put my 68 up in the air for the first time, I forgot to take the original antennae off. As it got near the ceiling I heard a loud snap. The antennae hit the roof, snapped in 2 and shot right into the rear deck of the car taking a nice ding right out of the paint That kind of took the fun out of a nice day. I've done lots of other stupid things over the years but that one kind of sticks out.

Replaced front brake hoses. Got distracted picking tool up and the fact the hoses fixed the problem, I went for a nice drive, got to 70 and remembered I never tightened the wheels. Very slow ride home but nothing fell off.
I bought a C3 last weekend - enough said right?
Let me add: seller told me the dash lights didn't work, air & heat doesn't work, power steering hoses leak, passenger window doesn't go all the way up, new mufflers - but very old exhaust, newer paint (but wrong color I discovered later) with a lot on orange peel, I made an offer much less than the asking price - and he accepted it! I should have ran but I got bit by that famous "Vette" bug.
Do you feel my pain?

Ugh, I just got done rebuilding mine. I probably could have saved that one. Oh well.
I had a 2-stroke trimmer that pissed me off for the last time. I took it by the trimmer head and swung it around and battle-axed it into the concrete driveway. Pieces went everywhere. Ain't no fixin' it now. When I got done, my wife peering through the window said "Do you feel better now?"

Been there myself. I love Holley carbs, but like many things once they are worn out it's just not worth messing with any longer. Far too many of them out there used, still in good shape and pretty cheap.
